| Motorcycle
diaries or “Diarios de motocicleta” as I like to call it
was one of those movies I have been anxious to see for a while now.
Seriously, it has been out for over a month and EVERY time I have gone
into blockbuster(there are two in Corvallis), it has been sold out.
EVERY TIME. So tonight to my astonishment it was out again, HOWEVER,
Jaime decided to ask the hot chick at the counter if she had any copies
that hadn’t been put on the shelves and before you know it, we had a
copy in our hands! Anyways…. This movie takes us to through a
cross-continental journey of south america where Ernesto “Che” Guevara
and his good friend Alberto Granado are looking for something to
distinguish their lives. They get a little more than sight-seeing as
they see how life in the 1950’s in south america isn’t as beautiful as
it seems. They go on their journey all the way down through Chile, and
end up in Venezuela. Anyways, the actor that played Che, Gael Garcia
Bernal did a wonderful job. Even though this movie is in spanish with
english sub-titles, I think everyone should check it out when they can.
This movie goes under my all time favorites list just because
I can somehow relate to it and I am taking an ethnic studies class.

| Bush, 4 More Years
Posted by Manny @ 8:43 pm
Yes, it was a pretty intense race to say the least and in the end
Bush came out on top with Kerry conceding this morning with a phone
call to the president. Very honorable way to acknowledge defeat by
Kerry. Although my vote was for the defeated, hopefully Bush can make
the next four years a little better for us than the past four.
Even
though more people voted this election then in the 2000 election, there
were still the same percentage of people in the 18-29 age group which
saddens me. I wish everyone who could vote would do so, they have the
power and they abuse it. I say GG to them.
Here are some important measures that passed/failed in the state of Oregon…
- Measure 33: Increases limit of marijuana possession for medical use. Failed.
- Measure 34: Requires resource conservation by timber companies. Failed.
- Measure 36: Marriage between man and woman is only type recognized. Passed.

| A Special Day For Mom
Posted by Manny @ 11:33 am
Saturday was that day because it was my mom’s birthday. She turned
the big four-one! Happy B-day to my mom! Anyways, the day started off
with me giving her a card and a gift which to my surprise made her cry.
Those are the tears that I like to see. It’s sad but I think a lot of
people take their mom for granted, even me. But I still try to find
time to tell her how much I appreciate what she does to help me out.
As
you can see from the picture above my parents and my little brother
watch as my mom takes the traditional bite of cake after my dad
“nudges” her head into it. It was hilarious because the more my mom
told my dad not to do it the more he wanted to do it.
The
celebration @ my aunt’s house included her family, my uncle’s family,
THE MORALES’, and my grandma which cooked her famous “Sopitos.” Overall
it was fun times as my mom had some time to catch up with them and just
have some laughs.
You gotta love mom’s. <3

| 3+3+2+1 = LOADS OF FUN!
Posted by Manny @ 1:33 am
This week is the beginning of midterms for me. I have a total of 3 midterms(MWF), 2 ENGR
assignments, 1 CS program, 3 MTH assignments plus regular class
schedule this week. I will be busy to say the least. Today, I went and
studied MTH306 at the library with a friend of mine from that class.
All I can say about the Corvallis weather is it’s…SO RANDOM.
Seriously,
around 2am last night it started pouring rain so hard that it felt like
ice was actually hitting the roof. It was so loud I couldn’t sleep. I
went to go study @ the library and before it was fairly humid outside
then I walk out and it’s freezing cold. I think this week will be a
good week with a fairly easy midterm to start it off. Hopefully that
can get me on the right track and in a good rhythm for all my other
tests.
Math is so much fun.
